Lucy Burch
Lucy Burch is a third-year Junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently
pursuing a BFA in Digital Media and Print Media in addition to a minor in Art History. They are
an active member in the Arts and Architecture Honors Program and have been recognized
repeatedly on the Chancellor’s List for their academic achievements.
Their interest in self expression through various mediums has driven them to push outside the
confines of strictly visual art and involve themselves in helping and background roles for various
performing arts. Their dedication to both the visual and performing arts is reflected in their
officer position in the college’s Illustration Club and continued work as a Robinson Hall
Technician over the past three years.
Naiya Graham
Naiya Graham is a second-year Junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education. Naiya has been recognized on the Chancellor’s List and is an active member of the Arts and Architecture Honors College. Her academic excellence is evident through her recognition on the Chancellor’s List and her active participation in the Arts and Architecture Honors College. Naiya has presented her research on critical topics like stereotype threats and the accessibility of dance education programs at multiple conferences, showcasing her commitment to academic inquiry and social issues.
Her involvement extends beyond academics into a vibrant array of extracurricular activities. Naiya has been a valuable member of the Campus Activities Board (C.A.B) Event Staff and has performed as a dancer in significant events such as the Spring 2024 Dance Concert with Guest Artist Martha Connerton and the Traditions 2024 Concert. She has also played a crucial role behind the scenes, serving as a Sound Board Operator for the Fall 2024 Dance Concert.
In addition, Naiya has co-presented research with Dr. Marissa Nesbit and Professor Shamou at the North Carolina Comprehensive Arts Education Conference, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of dance education. As an Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Scholar for Spring 2025, she continues to pursue scholarly excellence.
Naiya’s dedication to public service and community involvement is reflected in her role as a speaker and mentor at the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington’s Annual Alumni Day, where she shares her college experiences and provides guidance to younger students.
Kavitha Seshgari
Kavitha Seshgari is a multifaceted artist with a deep passion for dance. She boasts a strong academic background, holding a Masters in Performing Arts from Hyderabad Central University and an MBA from ICFAI University. However, her true calling lies in the world of dance. She is a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer with over 20 years of experience and is proficient in Kalakshetra, Tanjore, and Mysuru bani styles.
Her dedication to her craft is evident in her training under renowned gurus like “Sri. Pasumarthi Ramalinga sastry”, “Professor Shri Anuradha Jonnalagadda”, “Sri Arunabhikshu”, and “Sri Parshwanath Upadhay”. Additionally, she honed her abhinaya skills under “Shri Kalakrishna”. Kavitha’s artistic expression extends beyond Bharatanatyam, as she also holds experience in contemporary dance from the renowned Shiamak Davar dance School. Her creativity is further showcased through her published book, "Magic of Mudra in Yoga & Dance" and her impressive choreographies, including Jyothirgamaya, Punchlight. Her exceptional talent and dedication makes her a valuable addition to our artistic community.
