Award Overview
The dNc Laureate Award recognizes excellence in dance and music as artistic, academic, and reflective practices. Grounded in the values of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and Tri-M Music Honor Society, this award honors students who embody artistic merit, scholarly engagement, leadership, and commitment to documentation and legacy-building. This award affirms that artistic knowledge is not only performed but also archived, articulated, and transmitted, positioning students as emerging artist-scholars and cultural stewards. There will be two awards:

dNc Laureate Music
Award Application Deadline: October 30 2026
Eligibility
- Age Range 18-25 years
- Students must meet standards of artistic excellence, academic integrity, and ethical conduct
- Completion of the Music/ Dance Portfolio on GRL is a mandatory requirement for award consideration
Award Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
Artistic Excellence
- Technical proficiency, expressive clarity, and stylistic understanding
- Depth and consistency of performance practice over time
Commitment to the Arts as a Discipline
- Sustained engagement with training, rehearsal, and performance
- Demonstrated seriousness of purpose and growth
Reflection and Articulation
- Ability to critically reflect on one’s artistic process
- Clear verbal and/or written articulation of artistic choices, concepts, and contexts
Contribution to Arts Knowledge and Community
- Evidence of leadership, mentorship, or knowledge-sharing
- Engagement with dance as a living cultural and scholarly practice
