Author Ta-Nehisi Coates has written a poetical polemic in the form of a letter to his young son. It is an autobiographical account of Coates' coming of age in Baltimore, his life at Howard University, and in New York City. Â At once moving and confrontational, Coates describes "those people who think they are white" and the African American legacy of the struggle for freedom.References
