Joni Schwartz, City University of New York - LaGuardia Community College

Joni Schwartz is Professor of Humanities at the City University of New York - LaGuardia Community College and adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice Graduate Studies Program. She is a critical researcher, social activist scholar, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is the co-author of Learning to Disclose: A Journey of Transracial Adoption and co-editor of Race, Education, and Reintegrating Formerly Incarcerated Citizens: Counterstories & Counterspaces as well as twenty-four scholarly publications, and producer of two documentaries. Her newest book is Gifts from the Dark: Learning from the Incarceration Experience is published by Rowman & Littlefield and due out in May, 2021.
