Meet the Editors for our "Feminist Adult Education, Imagination and Museums" Special Issue


Darlene Clover is a professor of adult education and leadership studies at the University of Victoria, Canada. Her teaching areas include arts-based adult education and research methods, feminist adult education, women and leadership and museums. Darlene’s current study focusses on women’s and gender museums, feminist libraries and heritage sites and their mobilisation of the feminist imaginary. She a member of the Research Group of the International Association of Women’s Museums (IAWM) and the Feminist Imaginary Research Network (FIRN). Darlene’s co-edited volume Feminism, adult education and creative possibility: Imaginative responses, was published in 2022 by Bloomsbury Publishing, UK. 

Kerry Harman is Director of the Research Centre for Social Change and Transformation in HE at Birkbeck, University of London, and leads the MSc in Education, Power and Social Change, in the Department of Psychosocial Studies. She is a founding member of the Decolonising the Academy Collective at Birkbeck and the Feminist Aesthetic Research and Pedagogies of Possibility network, an international network of activist scholars using feminist aesthetics approaches. Kerry is currently working with homecare workers in the UK in the area of ‘New imaginaries of care’ to develop this work.

Claudia Diaz-Diaz is an assistant professor in Leadership Studies at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Her teaching and research interests include intersectional and anticolonial approaches to formal and non-formal education. Her current study focuses on the role of humanities and arts in climate justice pedagogies. She is a member of the Feminist Imaginary Research Network (FIRN). 

Gaby Franger is a professor emeritus of Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Germany. She is a board member of the Association Women in one World and curator of its Museum of Women Culture Regional – International in Fürth. Gaby is Chair of the International Association of Women’s Museums (IAWM) and the IAWM research group. She is an editor and author of numerous publications about regional and international women’s history, art and design.
